Home Maintenance Monday 3/17/25: Sunny Days are Coming!

🍀 Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone!

☀️🌈 Spring is ALMOST here! Last week we talked about getting organized and ready for your spring cleaning tasks, THIS week is the perfect time to kick off your spring cleaning with one simple but impactful task: cleaning your windows! A little elbow grease now will let the coming sunshine flood your home, brighten your space, and bring in that fresh spring energy.

Here are some quick tips to get your windows sparkling clean—inside and out—without the streaks:

Cleaner: If you don't have a commercial cleaner, you can use equal parts distilled water and white vinegar for this task.

Microfiber Magic: For a streak-free shine, grab a microfiber cloth. They work wonders for trapping dirt and moisture without leaving streaks behind. Use one for the cleaning solution and a dry one for buffing to perfection!

Newspaper Trick: Old-school but effective! Crumpled newspaper is an eco-friendly and affordable way to wipe down windows. It absorbs moisture and leaves a streak-free finish. Plus, it’s a great way to repurpose your paper!

Just Say No to Paper Towels: Paper towels can leave behind tiny fibers that might create streaks or lint on your windows. Stick to microfiber or newspaper for the cleanest result.

Inside & Out: Don't forget about the outside! Dust, pollen, and grime build up over the winter months, and a little scrub can make a big difference. It’s easier than it sounds, and it’ll really brighten up your whole home!

So, grab your supplies and tackle those windows this week. Not only will your home look brighter, but you’ll also feel like you’ve welcomed in a fresh start to the season. Wishing you all a beautiful, clean, and sunny St. Patrick’s Day! 🍀
