Home Maintenance Monday 3/10/25: Get Ready for Spring Cleaning!

What are your typical spring cleaning rituals?

Depending on how you grew up, we all have different "spring cleaning" traditions. I tend to try to declutter this time of year and give everything in my home a solid clean while I'm going about this process. I love doing starting this on the first warm days when I can open up my home and let the fresh air in. (Yes I’ve seen this week’s weather forecast and I tell you it will happen SOON!)

I see my own spring cleaning rituals are actually pretty casual, I think I tend to get more garden focused this time of year! Many people see this time of year as a time to do a FULL cleaning re-set of their home though, making sure to deep-clean everything. Regardless of your attitudes towards spring cleaning, this is a task that often takes more than just 1 cleaning session and might ALSO require you to be stocked up with a variety of cleaning supplies! This week I encourage you to take a look around and think about what needs to be addressed as a part of your spring cleaning tasks this year and start getting to them! (Because you don't want your spring cleaning to become summer chores!)

Martha Stewart's website put out an ULTIMATE Spring-Cleaning checklist last month that breaks down just about every possible surface cleaning task and every room in the house in a neat and organized manner. If you're looking for a checklist that will help you make sure you get EVERYTHING done, I encourage you to go and check it out!
